Magnushalden
Magnushalden, named after Magnus Hirschfeld, is the capital city of Urania. It is home to Ives Palace, the home of the Uranian Government. It is enclaved by the British County of Surrey.
Who was Magnus Hirschfeld?
Magnus Hirschfeld (1868-1935) was a German sexologist who founded the Scientific-Humanitarian Committee and the Institute for Sexual Research, institutions which would explore the meanings and causes of human sexuality. A gay man himself who counselled gay men who had become suicidal, his writings and political efforts to legalise homosexuality in Germany were revolutionary at the time. His work was to prove that homosexuality occurred in all cultures, and to prove to society at large that homosexuals came from all walks of life. For this, the Uranian Government commends him, and have named the capital city in his honour - Magnushalden ("Magnus' Hillside").
